The recommendation
Gas remains the primary burner for most Delhi kitchens — it takes any vessel, roasts a phulka directly on the flame, and works through a power cut. An induction cooktop is an excellent second burner: fast, safe and cheap to add. Making induction your only heat source means replacing cookware that lacks a magnetic base.
Common questions
How do I know if my pan works on induction?
A fridge magnet sticks firmly to the base. If it does not hold, the pan will not heat.
Is induction cheaper to run than gas?
It depends on your electricity tariff against LPG cost. The bigger practical wins are speed and not heating the kitchen.
